What is a basename?

The logical name of the product. Basename binds firmware together with the hardware. Formerly, we used the term NAME. Examples: SL-serpent, SX-serpent, AX-felix, etc.

If you get an OEM application, you will also get your exclusive basename. This ensures that your OEM application will stay exclusive to your devices. A container is the advancement of the basename, which includes the configuration as well.

How to change a basename?​

Basename change needs to be allowed by siliXcon.

  • Connect to the device. Using USB is the easiest way.
  • Go to the SRM
  • Select service
  • Install service package
