the software that makes the hardware work. The firmware modularity allows the hardware to be successfully deployed into a wide set of target applications and industries. Firmware can be configured, managed, updated, and tested remotely (after-sale process); even when the end product (usually, a vehicle) is already delivered to the end customer.
