Control Mode

The CAPRA application supports multiple control modes that determine how the BMS ports are turned on and off. The control mode is configured with the ctlmode parameter.

info

The ctlmode parameter is a bitwise parameter. Multiple options can be combined.

ctlmode

warning

If you do not have any accessory (display or WS LEDs with button) connected, set ctlmode to 192 (auto on + auto on by charger). This enables headless mode where the BMS ports are automatically turned on.

Control Behavior

Key Switch (bit 0)

When key switch control is enabled, the BMS monitors the key switch input. A rising edge turns the ports on, and a falling edge turns them off.

Charger Auto-On (bit 6)

When enabled, the BMS automatically turns on the ports when a charger connection is detected. This allows unattended charging.

Headless Auto-On (bit 7)

When enabled, the BMS automatically tries to turn on the ports after boot. It will attempt up to 5 times with increasing delays between attempts. If a charger is connected and auto on by charger is also enabled, the headless mode will disable permanently after the last attempt to avoid continuous retries.
