Charger Communication

The CAPRA application sends charge parameters to the connected charger over CAN bus using message 0x508. These define the static maximum charge current and end-of-charge voltage.

These parameters are located in the /charger folder.

warning

The charger receives static limit values from this message. The charger must additionally monitor the limiter value (negative) field in the 0x500 Status Message to dynamically limit its charge current based on the BMS limiter output.

Parameters

max_current [A]

Maximum charge current allowed.

end_voltage [V]

End-of-charge voltage. The charger should stop charging when the battery reaches this voltage.
