Product description
siliXcon brushless motor controllers are a key component of a system that effectively controls three-phase motors. They are intended to operate with low-voltage DC power sources and are available in various voltage options, providing versatility and flexibility. Due to these features, siliXcon motor controllers are primarily used in battery-powered vehicles that require compact dimensions. Key features of siliXcon motor controllers include:
- High power density: Advanced technology and an emphasis on efficient heat dissipation from the most stressed areas allow us to maintain the control unit's dimensions as small as possible.
- Modularity: Individual blocks of the control unit are designed as modules that are shared among various controller models and variants. This provides users with a high degree of flexibility, and transitions between models do not pose complications.
- High dynamics: An extremely fast control loop for phase currents ensures precise current control and very rapid response to changes in control signals.
- Advanced protective features: Thanks to precise control of phase current and temperature control at critical points, the controller is robustly protected against overcurrent and overheating.
- VCU (Vehicle Control Unit): Integration of a high-performance microprocessor allows the implementation of vehicle control functions directly into the controller, thus saving installation space and end-application costs.
The controller is primarily designed to drive an electric motor with permanent magnets. Two standard FW applications LYNX and OPHION can be loaded into the controller.
AX controller
This compact 2.6kW brushless motor controller, classified among the smallest products in our portfolio, features an efficient design and durable aluminium housing. With a maximum output peak phase current of up to 70 Arms, it provides reliable performance for small electric motor control. The single signal connector (Molex iGrid) ensures easy installation, bringing convenience and efficiency to a wide range of applications.

Signal part is connected via the signal connector - 5. Battery is connected via XT60 connector - 2, and phases via MR60 connector - 1. The controller should be installed by placing the mounting sourface - 6 on a flat metal sourface and securing it by four screws. Status LED - 4 indicates error states.

Product variants
The Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) completely specifies the product type and version. When combined with the Firmware Identifier (Basename), it can serve as the ordering code. The MPN is made up of different sections, which are explained in the table below. Typically, only the standard variant is in stock.

a: Standard version of the controller. Supports 3 Hall and Sin/Cos motor position sesnors.
Defines voltage operation range of the controller. Detailed technical specifications can be found in this section.
The higher the limit voltage range, the better the protection against overvoltage. However, as the voltage range increases, the MOSFETs' Rdson also increases.
Available versions are:
- 08: Standard version of the controller. The absolute voltage limit is 80 V.
Defines current measurement range of controller.
The higher the current measurement range, the better the protection against overcurrent. However, as the current measurement range increases, the resolution of the current measurement decreases.
Available versions are:
- 10: Standard version of the controller. The measuring range is 100 A.
Internal HW configuration describes selectable modifications in hardware. Each item can be present (marked with 1) or absent (marked with 0). A 12-bit binary number is used for this description and is visualized in hexadecimal form. Not all the options are used, these items are marked as "Reserved".
