Let an AI Assistant Set Up and Tune Your Controller
SWTools 4.0.0-rc3, the current testing release, turns emGUI into a bridge for your AI assistant. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot in VS Code or Gemini to emGUI, and the assistant works with the device on your desk: it reads its parameters and states, explains what it finds with links to this documentation, and takes you through the setup step by step. We recommend it to everyone who sets up or tunes a siliXcon controller.
Why use it
Setting up and tuning a motor controller means many parameters, read in the right order. The assistant does that legwork for you:
- Setup. Ask "Set up my controller for its motor" and it takes you through the motor identification and the battery limits, checks every result, and tells you what to do next.
- Tuning. Ask "What limits the power and the speed now, and what should I change?" It reads the live values, explains each parameter from the documentation and proposes the change.
- Diagnosis. Ask "Why does my motor not run?" It reads the error words, the protections and the limiters in the order our support does, and explains them.
It works the same for every siliXcon device emGUI connects to: motor controllers, battery management systems and displays.
Playbooks: our experience, served to your assistant
The assistant does not improvise. emGUI hands it siliXcon's playbooks: step-by-step procedures written by our engineers for setup and diagnosis, per device family and application. emGUI downloads the current ones from this site, so your assistant always follows the latest order of checks. The playbooks are ordinary pages, and you can read them too: AI playbooks.
You stay in control
- At first the assistant can only read. You decide in emGUI's Servers menu whether it may change parameters, or run commands that turn the motor, such as the motor identification. The assistant cannot raise that level itself.
- It asks you before every step that changes the device or turns the motor.
- emGUI sends nothing to the internet except documentation lookups. A cloud assistant does send your conversation, including the values it reads from the device, to its provider.
Get started
- Install SWTools 4.0.0-rc3 or newer.
- In emGUI, tick Servers → Allow AI assistants, then click Servers → Getting started with AI assistants... to open the setup page.
- Copy the message from the page that opens and paste it into your assistant. It sets itself up.

The assistant can be wrong. For anything safety related, such as powering, protections or current limits, open the linked page before you act, and keep the motor free to turn while the assistant works on it.
